Тapper — keyboard layout selector for X Window System. Tapper selects specified keyboard layout when user *taps* specified key. It always *selects* layouts and never *toggles* them.
Tapper unique feature is using modifier keys (e. g. Shift or Ctrl) for selecting keyboard layout *without losing modifier's functionality*.
*Tap* is pressing and *quick* releasing of a key, so (1) no other keys and/or mouse buttons are pressed at this time, and (2) period between pressing and releasing is short so key autorepeating is not triggered (usually autorepeating is triggered if key is pressed more than 0.5 s, but it depends on system configuration).
There are prebult RPM packages for a few versions of Fedora, source tarball for configure
&& make is also available.
Tapper is free software.
