Purpose:

The scrips and How To is designed to install all of the required dependencies (prerequisites) for building a host of ham radio software. The scrips, where applicable, will install or configure the required repositories to fetch dependencies needed to build ham radio software. Offering the most common software packages in use today. Scripts are kept up to date pending any dependency change required by the software, not necessarily the version of the software package. Much of the ham radio software all use many of the same dependencies, the scripts aim to cover as many as possible. The list below represents tested and known to work software. Just as the Debian script should work with all flavors of Linux based on Debian. The RHEL9 script should work with all flavors of of Linux based on Red-Hat. There is no support for beta test operating systems such as Fedora, Tumbleweed, or any other flavor of Linux ahead of the Enterprise standard. The purpose is not to version chase, but to rather provide a stable, long term ham radio software solution that will run for years.

Software Supported and Tested:
Hamlib
GnuRadio / GQRX / SDR++
WSJT-X
All of W1HKJ Software (FLDigi, FLrig, etc…)
ARRL TQSL
CQRLog

[1] You may uncomment the SDR line in the Debian script, and the Debian SDR-Meta package will install. Providing the full complement of SDR software and support from the Debian repository. It dose not install build dependencies for any of the SDR packages.

[2] There are further dependencies that may be required, but are not in the repositories. These you will have to build or install yourself. They are usually associated with GNURadio and Python. Using pip to install what is not in the repository.
