  • Best and simple fics/icc client, removes everything but the chess. (which is most important)
  • On windows 7 64-bit using 64-bit JRE, Jin for windows (jin.exe) won't start. You have to use jin.jar (double click on it) to start the app. Also, the Documentation link has been down for a very long time. That said, JIn it's my favorite chess client (on windows AND linux)
  • Best linux client for ICC. Only drawback is that it crashes occasionally. The other Java client crashes more often so this is the best there is.
  • Great and neat piece of software if you're into chess.
  • I admire this program, thanks
  • Great. You are great!
  • Best Linux chess client (FICS) I have found. Would like to see these features added: Button for Seek (with my time) Button for 'Congrats', and maybe 'Hello'
  • If you don't have your own computer, then Jin is the best default way you can access the Free Internet Chess Server. It's a good basic program, but it could use a few minor improvements. It does not offer sliding pieces, which is a standard feature found on most other chess sites and programs. Also, it would be nice to have a rematch button handy when you finish a game. But overall, it's a fine program and many people (including me) are grateful to the author for writing it.
