The installation of the adsoft-jimageman-X.X.X.deb file is done using the command "dpkg -i adsoft-jimageman-X.X.X.deb" on most debian based systems. Ubuntu users: However I have recently noticed that the Ubuntu 11.04 Software Center package manager refuses to install it. This is the default application used when double clicking on the Debian package. It used to just complain but it would still install it. Another note, Ubuntu's Software Center also refuses to remove the package as well but it can be easily removed using the Synaptic package manager or one of the following other package tools. This has changed with the recent releases. The work around is to use the the debian package manager "dpkg" or "gdebi" if you want a graphical installer. If you don't have gdebi or dpkg installed use the Synaptic Package Manager or simply use: "sudo apt-get install gdebi" from the commandline. While I think Ubuntu is one of the best Linux distros it has sadly been going the wrong direction as of lately. I haven't tested this package on Linux Mint yet. If any of you out there has some advice of how to fix this issue with Ubuntu please post your advice.
