๐ DETAILED BUILD & INSTALLATION GUIDE
[Win] WINDOWS BUILDS (located in "/v1.0/Windows/")
- .zip files: Simply extract the archive to any folder. No installation required.
- .exe files: Standard installers that extract the program to your specified folder and create a desktop shortcut. Note: Nothing is written to the Windows Registry in either version.
Both 32-bit and 64-bit builds are made from the exact same source code but compiled using different Python versions:
- x32 (Python 3.8): Universal legacy version for Windows 7 and newer. Created specifically for older PCs.
- x64 (Python 3.11): Only for Windows 10 and newer. Performs slightly faster on modern systems. Tip: In real-world usage, the performance difference is unnoticeable. If in doubt, choose the 32-bit buildโit will run flawlessly on any system.
๐ง GNU/LINUX BUILD (located in "/v1.0/Linux/") No installation required. Extract the archive, open your terminal inside the extracted folder, and run: ./JBPad_Linux
๐ macOS BUILD (located in "/v1.0/macOS/") No installation required. Extract the archive, open your Terminal inside the extracted folder, and run: open ./JBPad_macOS.app
Note: This build is not signed with an Apple Developer certificate and has not undergone Apple notarization. Running it from a USB drive or your user Home folder usually works out-of-the-box. However, if run from the "/Applications" folder, macOS may block it, showing a warning about an unverified developer. To allow execution from the Applications folder, open your Terminal and run: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/JBPad_macOS.app After that, the app can be launched normally.
๐ "ALL_OS" CROSS-PLATFORM BUILD (located in "/v1.0/All_OS/") In this unique build, Windows, Linux, and macOS share a single user data directory ("Data/") and one configuration file ("Setting.ini"). This allows you to work with a single copy of your notes while switching between different operating systems effortlessly.
How to use: Extract the archive to a removable drive formatted in exFAT (or NTFS/ext4 if you do not plan to use macOS). The execution commands for each OS are exactly the same as in the instructions above.
