Java Commander

Description: A 2-panel file manager like Norton Commander

  • works in any operating system with Java virtual machine;

  • file search by mask ansd content;
  • internal file editor;
  • network support (using jcifs lib);
  • internal unpacker (zip/jar/tar/tar.gz/tgz);
  • internal zip-packer;
  • internal image viewer (jpg, gif, png, bmp);
  • user hot keys support;
  • multilingual support

Adapted and packaged for Haiku by Michel Clasquin-Johnson. Tested on Haiku R1/beta 4 in the x86_64 bit variant and OpenJDK. Should run on 32-bit but that has not been tested.

Requires: The latest Java runtime from the official Haiku repositories. At the time of writing, installing openjdk21_default will see you through.
