  • Is this project dead? Having issues getting it running properly on Ubuntu 16.04.
  • I own a Sonos Play3 running in a hybrid Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 32bit) / Windows network with some connected Android and Apple devices as well. Installed Janos today and worked straight away (needed to change Ubuntu's firewall settings though). So far I'm happy with Janos's basic functionality on Linux. What's missing I can access from my Android phone. Hopefully the Janos project will be able to add more functions.
  • Worked directly on my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop. Connect immediately with my Sonos Connect. Well done! Although it could use some more features and a bit nicer design I really like it. Some things work better, like the search functionality, and the way it browses is much better than the Sonos controller. Handling the sliders could be improved. But overall, it works!
  • Excellent app. I was able to download, decompress, edit my main menu in PinguyOS to have a new shortcut command of sh /PATH-TO-JANOS-FILES/janos.sh and double click to play. Pros: instantly connects to the Sonos we already had playing music from an Android client with no faff at all. Cons: still in development, so understandably lacks more 'superfluous' features such as LastFM and so forth. All in good time I'm sure. What would be nice is a way to have Janos disable LastFM reporting from the Sonos itself and instead report the songs from Janos to a LastFM account separately selectable within the Janos interface. That way, when I'm using Janos it can report to MY LastFM account, and when my partner uses his phone on the Sonos, all songs added to the play queue by him can be reported by the Sonos to his account once Janos has closed. Possible but difficult I presume. Just a thought.
  • Chris/david - nice work. it is very helpful for us using linux etc. RU continuing development?
