[1.5.1] — 2026-08-23

Theme: the GLB-reference route. A GLB stops being an informal aid and becomes a measurement instrument with a packaged pipeline, three bounded prompts, and an explicit statement of which parameters it can be held to 1:1 and which it cannot.

Added

  • Add integrations/glb_character_pipeline, an opt-in three-stage reconstruction — cross-section loft, implicit surface, TypeScript encode — carrying its own pyproject.toml and uv.lock so the stdlib-only forge core stays dependency-free. Nothing in forge/ imports it. Stage 1 reproduces the reference character's shipped crossSections.ts exactly: 748 rings, 86,240 points, 9 regions.
  • Make the GLB optional throughout: with no reference, the GLB-dependent stages are skipped and the parametric path is used alone.
  • Add three copy-paste prompts for the route — build, polish and animation — each bounded by when to use it and when not, the parameters it forces to the GLB 1:1 with the check that proves it, and the three things that cannot be 1:1 at all.
  • Add code-only skin and cloth material profiles with validation for engine clamps, folded uniforms, and sheen configuration.
  • Label multipart GLB nodes from measured bounds, keeping semantic assignments explicitly provisional until render confirmation.
  • Add executed-geometry gates for flat-colour vertex regions and swept-arc bend, span and taper, plus required semantic-region declarations in render-profile v2.
  • Measure the spoke budget instead of choosing it: measure_density_convergence.py now prints the density ceiling and caps convergence at it, so a spoke count the point cloud cannot support is no longer presented as converged.
  • Accept per-node cell sizes through CHARACTER_CELL_SIZES_JSON, and support a geometry-only run that leaves vertex colour white for an independently authored material.

Changed

  • Reduce SKILL.md from 582 to 415 lines by removing a duplicated stage block and a stranded loop tail, so every host loads one continuous sequence of gates.
  • List all 15 live demos in the README with the version each was built with.

Fixed

  • Bound all three axes in the SDF quad pass, preventing out-of-range and aliased cell reads at the sampling-grid boundary.
  • Correct the swapped x2/x3 tier mapping in configs/example.env. x3 uses a bigger cell and is the coarser tier, so the template was writing each level into the other's file — valid, mislabelled data that tsc, the round-trip check and the build all pass.
  • Clamp the in-cell fraction away from the cell boundary in build_head_surface.py, so a recovered vertex cannot be attributed to a neighbouring cell. Verified topology-neutral on the reference node: 356,243 vertices and 713,012 triangles, unchanged.
  • Replace two rotted line-number citations in the material grimoire with symbol references.
