It use a clean command-line interface. It aims to be compact (less than 10 Ko) and cross-platform (as it is coded in standard python). It is particularly usefull to backup or mirrorize two directories (locally available on the system). It focuse on usefull features, particularly : * Check files' timestamp before synchronizing * Extraneous files deletion * Exclusion patterns by extension, size or name +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+ GETTING started +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+ Make a one-way synchronization from source to target directories : $ cyclone.py push source_directory target_directory Make a two-way synchronization : $ cyclone.py mirror source_directory target_directory Cyclone provide some options : -v or --verbose : Get a verbose output (default not). -c or --cleanup : Delete extraneous files on the *target* directory (whatever the synchronization mode (one- or two-way) -x or --exclude-path path1,path2,pathN Prevent files from synchronization by giving specific file's path name. -X or --exclude-ext .ext1,.ext2,.extN Prevent files from synchronization by giving specific file's extensions (.mp3 or .jpg for example). -S or --exclude-size Prevent files from synchronization by giving specific file's size in MegaBytes. -h or --help See help. +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+ INSTALLATION +~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+ You must install a standard Python environment (>=2.5) : http://www.python.org/download/ Cyclone could be used very directly : * unpack archive, * copy cyclone.py in a directory of your choice and, * execute the cyclone.py in command-line window.
