The hyperbolic tree visualization has been patented by Inxight Software Inc., acquired in 2007 by Business Objects S.A. So, the use of an hyperbolic implementation is illegal in the countries where the patent applies.

And I don't know if the diffusion of an executable hyperbolic tree visualization is legal or not. But I know that a software is NOT patentable in Europe <http://www.european-patent-office.org/legal/epc/e/ar52.html>.

Before downloading it, you have to check by yourself that you have the right to download, store or use the software. I know that if you are United States of America, you don't have the right to use it, because of the Business Objects software patents.
