HyperFrames v0.8.208

Released on 2026-10-27.

Video and audio stay in sync after cuts and retimed scenes, and capture takes a local HTML file again. PowerShell users can pass JSON flags from a file.

Features

Fixes

  • CLI: Take JSON flags from a file or stdin so PowerShell can pass them (808d642bceec4, #6518).
  • Core: Retiming a parked scene in the preview takes effect without a reload (859cd2fb9ca8b, #6522).
  • Core: An audio clip that never gets data no longer freezes the playhead (33e0ba550b4e6, #6523).
  • Core: A video after a cut plays in sync instead of about 70 ms behind (594df21537d73, #6494).
  • Docker: Node 22.23.4 and Bun 1.4.4 for CVE-2026-111497 (Brotli) (0fb9a50a630e1, #6440).
  • CLI: Validate cloud variables against the selected composition (2d207cb3a5d00, #6520).
  • Core: The npm package no longer ships the unminified media sync runtime (bd9b134cbb8f5, #6515).

Internal

  • Engine: Chrome-driving tests run in their own project after the rest (527ab6690576c, #6517).

Also in this release

These merged after the notes above were drafted and ship in the same npm packages.

Features

Fixes

  • Engine: A Chrome shell that ignores SIGTERM can no longer freeze the CLI at launch (2634a343dd585, #6547).
  • CLI: Orphaned Chrome helpers no longer keep a finished snapshot from exiting (4f1e66d2d0f40, #6545).
  • CLI: Closing the managed Chrome also ends the helper processes it leaves behind (b428ea92beb05, #6542).
  • CLI: Audio --read reads music onsets, effect peaks, pauses and voice against music (cf04452c0d00f, #6546).
  • CLI: A negative number after a flag is its value, not an unknown flag (24d49637d3048, #6549).
  • CLI: Beats given a media file points to hyperframes audio instead of a folder error (5a92fe7e5ef5a, #6544).
  • CLI: Snapshot's auto end frame stays within 250 ms of a long composition's end (c2b68fbe07430, #6538).
  • Engine: A GPU probe cancelled by its caller no longer sets software mode for the process (ae2c4b3942fda, #6541).
  • Studio Server: Preview resolves root-path module imports to the project (859281a60dc16, #6534).
  • CLI: Audio --read reports noise beds as ambience, not music (87baff884253b, #6536).
  • CLI: Audio accepts several files, as its help says (eba78b4ad38cb, #6535).
  • CLI: A check or snapshot that times out says which step it was on (1bc4bd9ca4d96, #6531).
  • CLI: A Chrome that fails to start says how it ended, and a slow start says so (9e5da67409090, #6516).
  • Engine: A failed video extraction says what ffmpeg reported, without paths or URLs (019b17b4b7501, #6527).
  • Studio Server: History lock retries a busy url write and releases on failure (592ca3daf115a, #6525).
  • CLI: --timeout on check and snapshot takes units like 45s (a669316bf2f8e, #6521).

Performance

  • Producer: A parallel chunk checks BeginFrame on its first worker, with no separate browser (69892716001f9, #6500).

Internal

  • A release PR runs a fast release check instead of the heavy suites (d94132e60979a, #6524).
  • CLI: The studio server test reads the asset body it fetches before moving the folder (c9377e28ff642, #6528).
