The goal of the HPKGSRC project is bringing the power of PKGSRC package management to operating system Haiku (www.haiku-os.org). The name HPKGSRC mean both H[aiku]PKGSRC and the upcoming revolutionary format of packages - HPKG [Haiku PacKaGes] that using the modern conception of user level file systems.

The NetBSD Packages Collection (pkgsrc) is a framework for building third-party software on NetBSD and other UNIX-like systems, currently containing over 8000 packages. It is used to enable freely available software to be configured and built easily on supported platforms.
