  • I chose Meteorologist because I wanted something simple: the current weather in the task bar where I wouldn't have to click. I got more or less exactly that, plus a bunch of cool other features. Very well designed, easy application. The only unfortunate thing was that the weather updates tended to lag fairly far behind (2 ish hours) even when I selected to update the weather every 15 minutes so I got more of a "general feel". Great stuff. And it's cheap as free.
  • I've used Meteorologist for many years now. Thank you for continuing to update this beloved app!
  • I just wanted to say how much I appreciate Edward and crew for responding to my suggestion to add Environment Canada as a source. To anyone looking for a great replacement for The Weather Network's Weather Eye...this is it! I just hope that this gets indexed so that everyone who still Googles Weather Eye to see if it has been finally updated to work again will come across this app.
  • I've used this app for years. Love it. Thank you, developers!
  • Has been a menubar favorite for many years, Edward and crew have done a great job after resurrecting the project. Many thanks.
  • No doubts, the best weather application ever.
  • LOVE Meteo! BUT...after updating to 3.0.4, I only get "Loading" in the Menubar. This fixed itself after 10 minutes so my review is back to FIVE stars. Great product!
  • Version 3.0.3 is still showing temperatures as 9999.
  • Excellent program with responsive assistance and support. Use it constantly. Updated: Best damned weather app in the Universe.....
  • I downloaded the version 3.0.1 of Meteorologist and still have the same problem as with version 3.0.0, which is, the temperature shows as: 9999ºF/% and i get a message that says: Lag/Long:Invalid API key. I'm running OX 10.12.3, Sierra.
  • Just tested version 3.1 in Mavericks 10.9.5: doesn't work, won't open. Back to the previous one. Hope it will last forever because I don't intent to move from Mavericks. Great app, really :)
  • same here: Temperature shows as 5537°
  • version 3.0 says my local temperature is 5537 C. Replacing the new prefs with the previous prefs did not help. I replaced ver. 3.0 with ver. 2.05 and the local temperature is 0 C which is more accurate because I can see snow on the ground.
  • Had another temp monitor in menubar app that no longer functions... wanted the functionality back so I went looking and found this gem. Am VERY glad it offers a source other than Yahoo for getting data, made me realize the "other" app is failing because it also depends on Yahoo, and something changed there so apps can no longer draw on it for the data.
  • It's JUST GREAT (particularly Meteorologist Classic...!!! THANKS to JERRY...!!!). It's a pity the WU daily allowance is so ridiculously low... but that is a problem which has to do with the Weather Underground provider and not with the program itself...
  • I had used Meteorologist in the past & I loved it. I was unhappy when I was no longer able to use it due to me upgrading my OS. I am so very very glad it is back in an updated version that is actually usable again. Good job!
  • Bravo, Ed Danley! You have done the thing no other developer has wanted to do—you re-wrote Meteorologist 2.0 from Scratch. And you used Apple's next-generation language to do it! I bow to you, I am not worthy. But I will do my best to help.

  • Totally the way it should be! Weather in your menu bar. Excellent!
  • A big THANK YOU to the developer of Meteo2. Meteorologist was one of my most used menubar features and now it's back. Anyway way to donate to help with the development?

  • so happy to join!
  • Program seems solid - so far - but I prefer a sans serif font to the one that is used.
  • I edit cities once or twice a year, but today I found myself unable to add any. This may be the same problem that unblocktheplane encountered -- the application can't add San Francisco, Rome, anywhere... Otherwise has worked fine for years with MacOS 10.6.8
  • Small and unobtrusive, temperature at a glance. Perfect!
  • Great app, but just stopped working

  • I downloaded xquartz (2.7.5) but Meteorologist still will not run on my MacBookPro Retina 10.9.1. When I saw that you used 2.7.4, I downloaded and installed it, but still no Meteorologist. It was running Meteorologist yesterday fine. Don't know what happened?
