gperftools 2.19 is out!
There have been a couple of changes since 2.19rc2:
- the Bazel build now uses aw-backtrace too. It is pulled from the Bazel Central Registry (as the aw-backtrace module) and becomes the default stack trace capturing method on Linux/x86-64 and Linux/aarch64. Note that this means Bazel builds for those targets now require glibc 2.35 or later (for _dl_find_object). If you target an older glibc, pass --@gperftools//:enable_aw_backtrace=false (e.g. in your .bazelrc).
- Xin LI has contributed GetPC support for FreeBSD/aarch64, which makes the CPU profiler buildable and usable there. See https://github.com/gperftools/gperftools/issues/1362.
The headline change of 2.19 is the integration of aw-backtrace (https://github.com/gperftools/aw-backtrace), a new stack-trace capturing engine. See the 2.19rc and 2.19rc2 entries below for the complete list of notable changes.
Much thanks to all the contributors.
