Migrated to GitHub!

Starting with Sep 2015, new versions will be published as GitHub Releases.

DEPRECATED

This folder contains the GNU ARM Eclipse OpenOCD distribution files for all relevant platforms.

Please note that the plug-ins are not included in these packages, and need to be installed separately, as usual.

Releases

In the last few years OpenOCD releases were rare, generally once a year. The naming scheme used by GNU ARM Eclipse OpenOCD uses the original version, followed by the release date. If the release is not based on the public stable version, but on the latest development version from the project repository, the name is followed by -dev.

0.9.0-* (stable)

The current public version of OpenOCD is 0.9.0, and these are several revisions of GNU ARM Eclipse OpenOCD, thus 0.9.0-* where the long number is the actual build date. It is recommended to use the most recent stable version.

0.8.0-* (stable)

These are old stable versions. It is recommended to use the most recent stable version.

0.10.0-*-dev (development)

These are development versions of 0.10.0, not yet released as stable. They are generally functional, but please be cautions. If you encounter problems, revert to the latest stable.

0.9.0-*-dev (development)

These are development versions of 0.9.0, before the stable version was released.

Platform specific packages

Windows

Windows setup files look like:

  • gnuarmeclipse-openocd-win64-0.8.0-201501311641-setup.exe - 64-bits application that can be installed on Windows x64;

  • gnuarmeclipse-openocd-win32-0.8.0-201501311638-setup.exe - 32-bits application, that can be installed on both Windows x86 and Windows x64.

Viruses

The new setup packages are build from sources on a GNU/Linux box, so it is very unlikely to be corrupted after being generated, and very unlikely for the public sources to contain any malware, but, as usual on Windows, a good anti-virus may help.

OS X

OS X install packages look like:

  • gnuarmeclipse-openocd-osx-0.8.0-201501311629.pkg - 64-bits applications that can be installed on Apple OS X 10.9 and up.

GNU/Linux

GNU/Linux archives look like:

  • gnuarmeclipse-openocd-debian64-0.8.0-201501311651.tgz - 64-bits application, built on Debian 7 x64, that should run on most 64-bits GNU/Linux distributions;

  • gnuarmeclipse-openocd-debian32-0.8.0-201501311704.tgz - 32-bits application, built on Debian 7 x86, that should run on most 32-bits GNU/Linux distributions.

Unpack and copy the openocd folder as /opt/gnuarmeclipse/openocd/0.8.0-201501311651.
