Gnome 2.1 is a fork of gnome 2 that attempts to keep the features in gnome 2 installable on any of the latest operating systems that can support rpm and deb packages. It not only has binaries for gnome, but several other packages as well. It offers a bulk install option to get it all at once. The default shell is the pre-unity menu in ubuntu, but it can be changed to the standard menu. There is no ubuntu branding, but some leftover package branding may remain.
