Glowbom OSS 4.1.1 expands the local coding-agent workflow and the open backend that powers Glowbom Desktop and Glowbom Live.
What's changed
Agents and builds
- Added Codex integration through Codex App Server and Claude Code support, alongside OpenCode and Cursor.
- Added configurable Agent Client Protocol (ACP) connections with saved profiles, model selection, and connection checks.
- Added build-specific permission controls, including “Allow all for this build.”
- Improved build progress, cancellation, session recovery, questions, and media review.
- Added OpenCode 1 and 2 compatibility through runtime detection and API adapters.
Projects and previews
- Added custom stacks, categorized presets, and discovery of existing apps inside a project.
- Added local previews for HTML, Next.js, Vite, and custom server commands.
- Added controls for opening stack folders in editors and system terminals.
- Added open Project Book APIs and portable records for project history, build results, images, and sketches.
Local workflow and Buzz
- Improved startup and shutdown with isolated instances, configurable ports, and checks that avoid stopping unrelated processes.
- Improved Linux folder-picker setup and environment diagnostics.
- Hardened credential-file storage to keep account credentials outside project folders.
- Improved Buzz profiles and connections.
- Added automatic connection handoff when opening Glowbom Live on Mac.
Open backend and documentation
- Added backend services used by Desktop for chat, project creation, media, and iOS/Vision Pro companion connections.
- Added optional local integrations and helpers, including Jev.
- Reworked installation, authentication, agent, Desktop, Live, and companion guides.
- Added publication checks and improved automated CLI release packaging.
What is included
Glowbom OSS includes the open backend, CLI, project templates, and a focused Agent + Buzz browser interface. The browser interface runs one coding agent at a time, and a Glowbom account is not required for local coding.
Glowbom Desktop and Glowbom Live are separate closed-source apps that use this backend. Desktop's full Chat, Draw, Studio, Project Book, and companion interfaces are not included in the OSS browser.
Live 4.1.1 downloads remain attached to the existing v4.1.0 release.
Updating
Stop the existing launcher, update your OSS checkout and CLI, then run glowbom doctor and glowbom start.
The local workflow still requires Go, Bun, and an installed, authenticated coding agent. Windows setup uses WSL.
Grok Build and Hermes have ACP setup guides, but successful builds with those integrations still need manual verification.
