Changed

  • GitLab merge requests blocked on approvals, pipelines, discussions, or other rules show the reason in the mergeability banner before you try to merge.
  • Permission-scope hints in repository settings open the in-app reconnect flow with the scope they need, alongside the copyable gh auth refresh command.
  • The session, plan, and research model pickers search their suggestions as you type and take any model id you enter, so a custom provider's model reaches the agent CLI exactly as typed.

Fixed

  • Explore recognizes Bitbucket repositories in workspaces you belong to, so Fork no longer appears on them.
  • Review notes and operation-journal records survive concurrent writes from the app and its MCP server.
  • Worktree rename, lock, unlock, repair and create, stash apply, drop and restore, and history edits report their result even when their dialog closes while the operation is still running; a paused rebase still lands you on the Changes tab.
  • Forking from Explore or the repository menu reports its outcome even if you navigate away while the fork is being prepared, and the new fork shows up under Your repositories; a star that can't be saved now says so.
  • Self-managed GitLab hosts are detected from quoted config keys, including quoted host:port and https://host forms.
  • Hiding AI features hides finished AI activity (reviews, agent runs, plans, and research) from the activity dock and inbox, and mutes AI-event desktop notifications; runs already in flight stay visible until they finish.
  • Remotes hosted at a bracketed IPv6 address, like https://[2001:db8::1]:8443/group/repo, are recognized as the host they name, so provider detection, credential handling, and the reconnect commands see the real host.
  • Merges, conflict resolution, branch updates, and stash-and-reapply recoveries on local pull requests report their outcome and update the pull request even when you switch tabs or leave the pull request while they run.
  • GitDesktop's MCP server resolves its --repo path to the canonical spelling, so operation history and records saved under older path spellings stay in sync with the app, whichever way the client config writes the path.
  • Refused merges show the blocking reason in the app's own words, on GitHub and GitLab.
  • Operation history marks a cherry-pick that was finished or aborted outside the app as "Ended outside the app", and those records age out of the history cap normally.
  • Self-managed GitLab and GitHub Enterprise instances on a non-default HTTPS port authenticate with your glab/gh session, and the repository view's sign-in status reflects them.
  • Repository-settings saves, deletes and toggles report their result even when the settings dialog closes or you switch to another settings section while the change is still in flight — General, collaborators and webhooks, rulesets, secrets and variables, Pages, security, the Sponsor button, GitLab and Bitbucket project settings, and every danger-zone action.
  • Repository settings opens straight away with a loading skeleton, and Esc or a click outside cancels it while it's still loading.
  • A pull request's blocked-merge line names what the base branch is waiting on: it reads the newest run of each required check, and counts a run GitHub has marked stale as still outstanding.
  • Opening a ruleset that can't be loaded shows the error and the way back to the list, and the editor opens only once the ruleset's own settings are in hand.
  • Editing a ruleset preserves the settings its editor doesn't show, including required checks pinned to a specific app, required conversation resolution, and excluded branch patterns.
  • The ruleset editor covers branch rulesets: tag and push rulesets keep their enforcement control in the list and say where to edit them. Custom branch patterns are read one per line, so a pattern containing a comma stays intact.
  • Local pull requests and issues survive concurrent writes from multiple GitDesktop MCP servers working in the same repository.
