  • Of course you can do that with GIMP. But this app is compact and allows to play more on parameters :)
  • Buggy preview. Setting frame duration is not intuitive. Can't configure encoding options such as dithering/error diffusion. Does not auto-detect image dimensions. Output animation has flashing colors, sort of like a colorful disco ball. Written in Java.
  • This is still really useful!
  • Good Job, best I've found so far.
  • I downloaded this application, so that I could edit some existing animated GIFs that I have. However, unless the feature is hidden somewhere, I don't think you can bring in and edit existing GIFs. Am I wrong? Can this program be used to edit the GIFs that it creates??
  • Won't run on 32-bit Windows!

  • Once you get it running, the software is excellent . . . The program version you need is determined by your installed version of Java, not by your hardware or OS version. If like me you followed the recommendations when downloading Java, you probably have the 32-bit jre installed on your 64-bit computer because you use a 32-bit browser. Try downloading the 32-bit GifApp, or installing the 64-bit Java; Oracle claims both versions can coexist on a 64-bit machine.

  • Very useful project!
  • How does it work? I was unable to install the app. It was very frustrating.
  • I have updated Java...Why does not run?.
  • I like it, but I hope a couple corrections could be made to make it useful for the next version. When I try to set the interval time to something much less than 1000ms, for instance when I set to 100ms and click the button to set it, the preview and the output file remain at 1000ms. Another problem thats a bit more minor is that there's no way to stop the preview once you start it. A stop button would be nice! Cheers!
