Fast file splitter. Splits files using a window or from a command Line. Tested with more than 4 Gbs file sizes. Written in c#. Requires .NET Framework 2.0
- Split bigger files into smaller parts
- Split files bigger than 4Gbs
- Command line split available
Shows promise, but the GUI only splits according to byte values (even when other values are selected in the combo box, ie Megabytes). Still, since the source code is available, I can probably fix this. My guess is that the developer uses this as a command line tool exclusively. I prefer a GUI b/c I will not be using the application very frequently.
How do you recombine the files once split ?
Really easy to use. Works perfect!
Not a bad. Simply and useful!
I checked the source code for this program earlier this year and was impressed. I made a couple of suggestions for improvements and minor bug fixes. The author responded relatively quickly and updated the program. He was competent and obviously knows his stuff. I wanted a program that would run batch jobs from a console prompt. I needed to split log files as big as 350GB to managable chunks, and have them processed by another program that had a 2GB limit. File Splitter did it. I merged many split files back together to verify their checksum, and the split did what it was supposed to do - it didn't add or delete any data, and it was quick. It was the quality I expect from a commercial program (and don't get me started on the commercial product I bought before looking on SourceForge. That was NOT commercial quality. The sum of the sizes of the split files was larger than the original!). Recommended.
