Froststrap v2.0.3 - What's new?
Added
- macOS "About" menu for app doesn't pull up the Avalonia template, but now our About window
- Linux now trusts your Window frame, so there is no awkward titlebar drawing
Fixed
- GBS Editor locale issue where it would try to turn a String into a Double (issue [#211]) and fail on
,based decimal system languages- e.g tries to.ParseInt()on value2,53 - Clicking on About in Settings reinitialises with no lock mechanism causing it to keep creating new windows
- FINALLY- the updater isn't as bad since the rewrite, we have switched to a prerolled solution called Velopack
- Works on Windows, macOS and Linux AppImages
exeinstaller on Windows has been replaced in favour ofmsiinstaller (exeinstaller kept for backwards compatibility purposes only, use themsiinstaller)- pre release auto updating should work now
- shows release notes on app update (hopefully)
Codebase
- Build system now has
--no-installersfor manual package management, like on AUR virtualdisplayrewritten from Swift into Rust- other crates compile most deps so that new speed is pretty much ~1s
- makes the idea of "backend" code all now under the one common programming language
- simplifies CI - making the weird discrepancies where CPU spikes make build go from 8s to 2m go away
rbackendarchitecture has changed so it's not going to be 1 big library, so what wasrbackendis nownotifynotifyusesrustbus, as a DBus implemenation rather thanzbus- Linux compile time is now ~5x faster
notifyno longer depends onobjc2-foundationalong with other mini-crates- macOS compile time is ~4x faster
- All versioning is managed via the build system is now so to create a release it's literally creating the vX.X.X tag
- macOS app optimised, extracting our libs from the binary and storing in the manifest
./Contents/Frameworks/*.dylib - refactor
ThumbnailRequest's propertySizeto instead use an enum
