This is the very first alpha release of FreeMapper, v0.01. 

It's more or less proof of concept work, and most likely contains
a fairly big number of bugs. Also, it misses a lot of features that
one could wish for in a map making tool.

But it should be good enough to demonstrate the concept :)

To start FreeMapper, just unzip the FreeMapper-v0_01.zip. The
contained Freemapper.jar is an executable jar file. If you have
Java properly installed, a double click on the jar file should start
FreeMapper (at least under Windows it does ...)

Resources.zip is collection of tile sets and map backdrops that
you can use for toying around with FreeMapper. If you want to
create your own tile sets in the .tica.zip format, check out the
Tilemaster tool, also available on Sourceforge.
