Perfect little program. Just what I need to keep my family out of my private files. It's extremely basic but that's what makes it perfect. Thanks!

Program has a flaw in that if you click OK without entering a password, it locks the folder anyway, and when you subsequently attempt to decrypt the folder, the password dialog will not appear. Used a prog called "LockHunter" to "Unlock & Rename" the folder, and got my files back.

Does not lock or encrypt anything, just makes the folder inaccessible via the built-in Windows File Explorer. For explanation see here: superuser . com / a / 1502569 / 145340

The app does not do what it says it does. All it does is rename the folder to "folder.{CLSID}" for some specific CLSID. This achieves the goal of making Windows Explorer not open the folder. But the folder can still be opened by any program, most notably the cmd command line. One can see then that not only is the folder not protected/encrypted, but that the "password" is stored in plain view in a file named p.xml.
