This distribution is based on Debian Live 13 using Linux-libre longterm (LTS) kernel. It consists of Free components only. Non-Free packages are NOT installed by default; refer to change.log.

Read this readme.txt file first, before using this snapshot for x64 architecture.
The ISO image can be used as Live USB/DVD or for HDD installation.

** Set your language **
To change the default locale (English), edit and replace it with the following texts (parameters) at booting menu by entering 'e'. Then press Ctrl-x or F10 to boot.

** Installation into Hard Disc
To install this respin into internal hard disc, Double-click Installer Icon on Desktop. If it does not work, open menu > System > Install Debian or run the following command instead from Xfce Terminal as root: 

 sudo calamares-install-debian

** Supported locales (L10n)
As for this ISO image, the default language (locale) is set to en_US. That is, English language and East Standard Time. You should change locale into your desired one at Boot Menu Option. You are free to choose whatever locale you want. If not changed on Booting, use the following command to set your default locale after login:

 # dpkg-reconfigure locales

** Multilingualization (m17n) support
For several Asian languages (Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese), input methods are ready for use after login. 
In order to enable Chinese input, click IME toolbar which appears at the right corner on the bottom. Then select item "Chewing". Now you can start Chinese input by pressing Crtl + Space key.
On the other hand, in order to enable Japanese input, click IME toolbar which appears at the same place. Then select item "Anthy". Now you can start Japanese input by pressing Shift + Space key, or alternatively "半/全 漢字" key if your keyboard is Japanese layout.
To return to previous (direct) mode, just press the same key.

If you need another input method for many other languages, add m17n support by installing uim-m17nlib package as follows:
 # apt install uim-m17nlib

** About Universal Input Method (uim)
Uim is an input method module library which supports various scripts and can act as a front end for a range of input methods, including Anthy, Canna, or SKK (for Japanese), Pinyin (for Chinese), Byeoru (for Korean), and M17n (for many other languages). Most of its functions are implemented in Scheme, so it's very simple and flexible.

If you want to use UimToolbar utilities, which shows and controls uim mode, for system tray, run the following command:

 $ uim-toolbar-gtk3-systray &
