Flister is a tool that can help manage information stored in text files. Flister can use a file of information of interest created and populated prior to being opened by Flister. It also can create new files and add information records to a file. Flister is designed to be general, and it can be used to store and retrieve any text information. Possible uses include: References Contact information Random textual information Flister originally was developed to manage report references prepared according to a specific format. When used for this purpose, each line in a text file contains one reference prepared according to that format. When a reference is needed in a report, Flister can be used to quickly find the reference and copy it to the Windows clipboard. Note that Flister is not a reference data base or sophisticated reference manager, as it cannot format references for various formats. Use the "Search Data File" and "Search Results" buttons to filter the records. Navigation buttons to the right of the Results pane can be used to navigate between records. Use the "Copy Current Result Record to Clipboard" button to copy the record. See the Help facility for more details. The distribution consists of a zip file containing this README file, the application executable, and a compiled help (.chm) file. To use Flister, just unzip the zip file and execute Flister.exe; please ensure that Flister.chm is in the same directory as Flister.exe. If the .chm Help file does not display correctly, it may need to be unblocked by an administrator. In File Explorer, right click on the .chm file and select Properties; then click Unblock. The same can be done for Flister.exe. Flister is programmed in Delphi. I compile it with Turbo Delphi 2006, Delphi 2006, or Delphi XE Pro.
