Cloud Data centers aim to provide reliable, sustainable and scalable services for different requests. Resource scheduling is a key part for Cloud services. To simplify the scheduling process, we propose FlexCloud, a new flexible and scalable simulator that enables simulating the process of initializing cloud data centers, allocating virtual machine requests, and providing performance evaluation for various scheduling algorithms.
Features
- Built on Java platform and can be run on a single computer with JVM to simulate large scale cloud environments with focus on infrastructure as a service;
- Design patterns are adopted to assure the flexibility and extendibility of the system;
- New scheduling algorithms can be easily added;
- A user-friendly interface is provided and customized configurations can be set to simulate various conditions;
- Plain comparison diagrams are produced to evaluate the performance of different scheduling algorithms. Comparing to existing simulator CloudSim, FlexCloud has advantage in computing time and memory consumption to support large-scale simulations.
- 【Good News!】FlexCloud is awarded as the best software tool in Beijing Tongtech Software Innovation Contest with 8,000 RMB bonus
- We have uploaded a paper introducing Flexcloud in ArXiv, see http://arxiv.org/abs/1501.05789
