Search and replace operations on file content accross multiple files. Recursive operations within entire directory trees. FAR comes with support for regular expressions (regex) over multiple lines, automatic backup and various character encodings. Run grep like extractions to condense or rearrange sources, or perform bulk file renaming.

did a recursive search of a single file under many directories . searched and replaced a string in those pom.xml files . it works! thanks for making the program. it will be great if the popup file viewer can highlight all the the search string.
This software can do batch regex replace on binaries with back referencing - and it is extremely fast
Very useful, you saved my life from wasting time :)
The name of the project is very misleading. I am using FAR for many years, it is for me like OS GUI. I do absolutely everything from FAR. I don't even know how to live without it. I guess, I was too much attached to Norton Commander in DOS :) So I thought this thing here was a FAR plugin and downloaded it. Turns out, it is an attempt to attract people by using the name of the most useful and most important Windows application ever... As to its functionality, I did not get around to testing it yet (hence 5 stars - for now) - still in shock because of its name - but it will be interesting to compare its capabilities with what UltraEdit can do - my 2nd favorite Windows application:)
Don't waste your time getting this app! Search results come back with extra files not matching the Content Pattern used. Example: Do a search for this content pattern "file.name", and FAR returns all files containing the text "file/name". Now that can really mess your system up.
