Build FIDAB
-----------

FIDAB is built with ANT, download from http://ant.apache.org/.

1. Run 'ant'.

The result can be found in the build/fidabpdm directory.

Server installation
-------------------

Follow sql/postgresql/README to install the database.

Create a shared directory on the server to store documents. This path
together with the access class letter must be entered in the client
under Admin->File archive->Archive directories... during
configuration.

Client installation
-------------------

You need JRE 1.3 or newer to run FIDAB.

The files necessary to run FIDAB are lib/* and Fidab.ini

Edit the file Fidab.ini to fit your environment.

The command line (for Windows) to start the client will look something
like this:

start /B java.exe -DADMIN=TRUE -cp lib\fidab.jar;lib\physicalarchive.jar;lib\filearchive.jar;lib\postgresql.jar;lib\itext-1.4.1.jar;lib\mail.jar;lib\activation.jar se.fyrplus.fidab.client.Fidab

You may need to replace postgresql.jar with a version built
specifically for your version of PostgreSQL.

The ADMIN flag is used to activate the administrative functions, like
adding classes and series, removing objects and unlocking
configurations.

Now it is up to you to model your business and add classes, series,
document types, access classes and file types via the Admin menu to
achive the tremendous benefits FIDAB's structured repository delivers.
