ffplayout 2.5.0 adds configurable network protocol options, improves channel-specific logging, and refines live-ingest reader cleanup.

Configurable network protocol options

Network stream outputs can now define custom FFmpeg protocol options through the API and web interface.

• Supports RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, UDP, custom TCP, and HTTP(S) outputs.
• Uses the linked FFmpeg libraries to validate option names, types, ranges, and symbolic values.
• Rejects conflicting values specified in both the output URL and the protocol-options field.
• Reports options that FFmpeg did not consume when opening the connection.
• Prevents overriding ffplayout-managed timeouts or enabling listener mode.
• Keeps network protocol options separate from recording outputs.
• Persists protocol options as part of the output configuration.
• Adds localized controls for managing protocol options in the frontend.

Custom TLS protocol options are not currently supported. Existing TLS output URLs without additional protocol options remain usable.

Improved output configuration

Advanced audio encoder, muxer, and network protocol options are now grouped in a collapsible section, making the regular output settings easier to navigate.

Channel-specific engine logging

Engine messages now consistently carry their associated channel ID.

• Live ingest, playout, encoder, and desktop messages are routed to the correct channel log.
• Process-wide messages without a valid channel are written to the console instead of being lost.
• HTML-formatted log content is converted to ANSI formatting for terminal output.
• Shared console state prevents regular messages and benchmark redraws from interfering with each other.

Live-ingest reader cleanup

Live readers now receive a short, bounded shutdown period after an interrupt.

This allows FFmpeg to finish its current network polling cycle, close the input context, and release the socket before ffplayout starts the next listener. Readers are only detached and reported as stuck if they remain active after the grace period, reducing false warnings during normal cleanup.
