ffplayout v2.2.0
New
- Playlist entries can now use a separate external audio file. Local and remote audio sources are validated, probed, and played in sync with the video.
- Audio/video synchronization for media without an embedded audio stream has been improved. ffplayout now generates appropriately timed silence to keep playout responsive.
- Still images now receive a default duration of 10 seconds.
Improvements
- When starting partway through a playlist slot, still images are no longer seeked. Instead, the image is displayed for the remaining slot duration.
- Empty filler directories now reliably fall back to generated black video and silence.
- Media and playlist views handle incomplete or empty directory data more robustly.
- Rust and frontend dependencies have been updated.
- Docker builds for static FFmpeg packages have been simplified.
Windows
Windows releases are now built against the BtbN FFmpeg 9.0 GPL Shared Build.
When upgrading, please use the DLLs from the FFmpeg 9.0 Shared Build.
Place them next to ffplayout.exe, or make their bin directory available through PATH.
