This is an amazingly powerful DHTML/JavaScript-based GUI editor. Since it is free and open source, it is a wonder commercial sites still use plain textareas. FCKeditor is light and agile, which, In my opinion, rivals pay alternatives like Ephox EditLive! -- a heavy $4000 - $8000 Java applet that offers few advantages over FCKeditor and can be easily crippled by office environments with locked-down systems. It is funny how many people think the name is crass or lewd. (I confess, I did, too, at first.) FCK are the author's initials.

It's a very useful WYSIWYG editor.

It is a great tool for web developers and users. Specially for wikipedia, even if the official site doesn´t use it.
