This is a good, but stale project. Use FileRun (.com) instead. It's up to date.

Works well, easy to install. Unfortunately to change atrributes of files and directories (chmod) is restricted to FTPmode. That's quite uncomfortable and doesn't make any value, because you can add, delete, move, modifiy any file or folder, but not change attribute. This should be possible for administrator at least.

A very clean interface to a very good tool. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add the ability to send an email with a link to upload/download files.

Phantastic tool! Please allow some hints for some VERY important improvements: Symlinks (which are very important within Linux) should be editable because this is their most common use. Symlinks should be deleteable too, just as normal files. To create and edit symlinks are most important things to do with a webbased filemanager.

I recommend you to take a look at this file management software. You can set up your own file server for managing and sharing files through web browser. It's like DropBox but self-hosted so that you can keep all your confidential files on your own server. The web based UI looks and feels like Windows 7 Explorer. It offers features that are not possible with a FTP server such as zipping files, downloading multiple files and folders in single download etc. It's also easier to set up and administrate than a FTP server. http://www.gleamtech.com/products/filevista/web-file-manager

Just what I needed. Quite similar to Ajaxplorer, a bit simpler.
