Release of the 2.5 generation (master): eZ Platform 2.5 with Symfony 3.4 and the Exponential legacy kernel. Changes since v2.5.0.6.
Security and code fixes
web/app.phptakes the environment only from the server configuration. Up tov2.5.0.6any request whoseHostheader containeddev.ran in thedevenvironment with debugging on (dddc937de).app/AppCache.phpnever makes a private or personal response public. It now readsapp/config/http_cache.ymlandHTTP_CACHE_UNCACHED_HOSTNAMES, and it always keeps the admin siteaccesses, Layouts, GraphQL, the Content Browser, the REST API and the user pages out of the shared cache (2a9c202b9)..gitignorekeeps.env.php,.env.localand.env.*.localout of the repository (4f0ea4964).app/config/parameters.yml.distsets the tree root to 168, the root of the CJW content thatezplatform:install cjw-exponential-mediainstalls. With the old value of 2 the site started above "JAC Example" (7c6fa6f52).app/config/ezplatform_siteaccess.ymllists each host once underMap\Host. Symfony 3.4 kept the first of two entries forlegacy.platform.cjw.beta.se7enx.com, which made it anenhost. It now maps tolegacy_admin, like the otherlegacy.*hosts (569f95143).- Front-end build:
.nvmrc(v22), and the Makefile passes its version tonvm install(c3e3eabc0). Every Encore script sets the OpenSSL option current Node.js needs (0e55f2ce1, 3f507104c, 987db5e8e). - Makefile:
make clear-all-cacheempties the configured cache pools (0a99ba5f8), andmake ibexa-assetsrunscomposer ezplatform-assets(480978461).
Documentation
- The book.
doc/book/is new: fourteen chapters on installing and running Exponential Platform Nexus on all four lines. They cover requirements, getting the code, installing, the demo site and Netgen Layouts, serving the site (Exponential Velocity, Apache, nginx, Varnish), databases, configuration, the front end, operations, upgrading between lines, migrating into Nexus, troubleshooting and security hardening. doc/INSTALL.mdis now the short installation guide into the book. The previous guide is still inv2.5.0.6(git show v2.5.0.6:doc/INSTALL.md).- Server examples:
- The nginx example uses a PHP 8 socket,
APP_ENV prod, an/images/rule andTRUSTED_PROXIES. - The Apache example describes
APP_HTTP_CACHEas the front controller reads it. - The Varnish page names the VCL files this branch ships and how to point the application at Varnish.
