This is a flashcard game written using the JQuery framework that is explaining the basics of the comparative method in historical linguistics and etymology. The game has three parts. In part 1, you are supposed to guess which of the given four words from the second simulated language is a cognate to a given word in the first simulated language. In part 2, you are supposed to guess which word belongs to which of the two simulated languages (the first or the second one). In part 3, you are supposed to guess which set of sound changes belongs to which simulated language. I got the inspiration for making this game (particularly the part 2) when I read about the task Tocharian from the International Linguistics Olympiad 2003.
