ethermon is made to monitor link layer traffic of a specific NIC adapter.

You can use the tool to write raw link layer data to stdout...

    $ ethermon -i eth0

or just decoded Ethernet frames...

    $ ethermon -i eth0 -decode

To learn more about the usage...

    $ ethermon -?
