Equake is an applet for the mate panel. It monitors earthquakes and it will
display an update each time a new earthquake occurs.

Please read the INSTALL document on how to install it, but basically it
comes down to running the following:

./configure && make && make install

Usage is very straightforward, once you have installed the applet you can
start it by adding it to the mate panel. When it's added the applet will
try to find the newest earth quake and display it in the panel. Depending
on your internet connection it may take a short while.

If you right click on the applet a menu will open with various options
to choose from which are mostly self explanatory. The preferences menu
option allows you to configure various parts of the applet. Settings are
saved in a file in your home directory named: .equake_appletrc.
You can also update this file by hand and the program will automatically
refresh its settings.

bug reports or any other inquiries.
