ePubEditor Files

ePubEditor was built using the Java 1.6 JDK. New drag and drop functionality requires 1.6; 1.5 will now not work (if it ever has).

ePubEditor.zip contains ePubEditor.jar plus all the required libraries, together with some sample support files. If you have a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed, it should be possible to extract ePubEditor.zip into a single folder and run the program by executing "java -jar ePubEditor.jar".

ePubEditor.jar is just the JAR file. It will not be runnable unless the required libraries are included in the classpath. ePubEditor <i>requires</i> log4j.jar, tagsoup-1.2.1.jar, and XHTMLDocument.jar. ePubEditor is designed to work with epubcheck if the epubcheck required jars are also in the classpath; if they cannot be found, the program will still run, but epubcheck integration will not be available.

epubcheck tends to be in a state of flux, and is way too strict in its checks. ePubEditor and epubcheck are not guaranteed to play well together (although there's no reason you can build ePubs with ePubEditor and then check them with the command line version of epubcheck).
