The ECUT (Eclipse C++ Unit Testing) project integrates CppUnit into Eclipse C/C++ development tooling. The goal of ECUT is to provide the same and better seamless support as JDT does with JUnit. ECUT is now open for other C++ unit testing frameworks.

I downloaded the ECUT M3 for Ubuntu 10.04LTS and installed it into Eclipse/Indigo. That worked ok, so I proceeded to the demo project. This fails when trying to build a test case. Maybe we're all spoiled with so much super quality freeware/shareware out there that works without any significant problems. For this reason I personally find it in the meantime quite a turn-off when even the demo does not work, as is the case here. What is demonstrated in EcutDemo.html unfortunately doesn't match the downloaded s/w. Worse is that TestRunnerClient.cpp &.h, which do not feature in the demo but seem to be new in ECUTDEMO_M3, do not compile correctly. So do I invest my own/my employer's time and try to fix the problems? Or do I give up/go elsewhere? Sorry I couldn't be more positive...
