This is beta version 0.91b of easyBackuper. Currently I strongly suggest to test files after backup, that's due to lack (in my opinion) of enough test time. Installation instructions / additional informations: Currently I strongly suggest to test files after backup, that's due to lack (in my opinion) of enough test time. That said It doesn't mean that this application was not tested!. Installation: Windows: Just unpack the archive to location that You have write permission and run the program. Linux: Unpack archive into location that You have write permission (i.e. /home/username/easyBackuper). if You are running KDE as window manager, then application runs without need of any additional libraries. On other systems install Qt4 libraries from repositories. On Ubuntu/Debian distributions type sudo apt-get install libqt4-xml libqtcore4 libqt4-gui to install Qt4 libraries, or consult Your distribution manual/forums how to do that. FAQ: 1. Why my file manager shows less files (in destination location) after backup? If there was no error that's due to absence of empty folder. Currently program don't create empty folders. 2. Why easyBackuper, in copy dialog "Total files copied:", shows number less then my file manager? This number says how many files were copied, don't include directories count. 3. How to "synchronize" two location? Simply add two pairs that point to each other, i.e.: /home/testfolder1 -> /home/testfolder2 /home/testfolder2 -> /home/testfolder1 if option "Copy only newer files" is set (by default is on) then files in theses folders will be "synchronized" to the NEWEST version from each folder. 4. Why my files are overwritten without any warning? easyBackuper was designed keeping in mind "silent operation". I tried to reduce to the minimum application "popups", so You need to be careful when choosing destination directory. 5. Do I need to run rsync or other services/demons? No. This application is independent utility that don't rely on other services. 6. What happens when I abort copy operation? Application will copy current file and then abort operation. That's because I don't want to use any "delete" code in application. Bugs: * (Windows) When making backup from Linux machine to Windows machine - file name must consist of valid MsWindows "characters". EXT supports file names like fu"bar, and the same file name in Windows is displayed as FYH9OR~J ( NTFS itself supports that, but ...). This, of course, happens due to MsWindows limitation.
