Had exactly the same problem as gigerbyte. Win7 Pro 64 bit: blank icons, couldn't open images. I had installed the program in a folder which was not the default location. I copied the installed folder to the default location and clicked on the executable there and the app works now.
Hope this helps. Looks like an interesting program.

Seems to be a verry nice and seducing tool. But unfortunately it doesn't work correctly on my PC (Windows 7 64 Bit, ATI Radeon HD 5450). The only files I am able to load are PNGs. All others cause the message "Cannot load". And if I change any adjustment to the loaded PNGs or just draw the selection, they turn into grey surfaces or the Programm freezes. Even if I only save the loaded PNGs. And I don't know what the GUI normaly looks like, but in my case there are no Icons visible, only blank fields.
Not easy for me to rate this project, because it might be that I'm the only one with this problems. But in fact it's unusable to me at the moment.
