About
=====
This installer bundles several applications, which together make up the Digital Preservation Software Platform (DPSP).

These include the following products from the National Archives of Australia:
Checksum Checker (http://checksumchecker.sourceforge.net) - ensures integrity of digital files
Digital Preservation Recorder (http://dpr.sourceforge.net) - workflow tool for digital preservation
Manifest Maker (http://manifestmaker.sourceforge.net) - creates a manifest list of files
Xena (http://xena.sourceforge.net) - normalises files into open formats, encodes in Base64, wraps metadata

As well as the following dependencies:
ClamAV (http://clamav.net) - virus scanning for DPR
Evince PDF Reader (http://live.gnome.org/Evince/) - for reading documentation
LibreOffice (http://libreoffice.org) - free office suite for converting documents
PostgreSQL (http://posgresql.org) - database server for DPR

License
=======
The National Archives of Australia's preservation software is free software (free as in freedom, not just as in price) and makes use of various other free software projects itself. DPR is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0 or later (see COPYING.txt). Other third party applications are under their own free software licenses.

Installation and distribution
=============================
You are free to redistribute DPSP and to install it on as many computer systems as you please.

Source Code
===========
You are also free to download the complete source code and modify it to suit your own requirements. See our website at http://dpsp.sourceforge.net for details.

Documentation
=============
Please read the DPSP Quick Start Guide available from this website for an overview on how to use DPSP. Each individual DPSP product (such as Xena and DPR) has its own detailed User Manual, available from the project's Sourceforge project page.

Thank you!
