DocuBrowse v1.5.2 — Chinese Support (Simplified + Traditional)
DocuBrowse now runs entirely in Chinese — both Simplified (zh) and
Traditional (zh-hant) — bringing the supported languages to English,
Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Highlights
- Chinese language support (Simplified + Traditional). Full UI translations
(
locales/zh.json,locales/zh-hant.json) plus README translations (README-zh.md,README-zh-hant.md). Both variants use thebge-m3multilingual embedder and theornith-1.5:9bsynopsis model; Traditional is driven by a prompt that forces 繁體/正體字 output. - CJK keyword search covers Chinese. The existing character-bigram segmentation already spans the CJK Unified range, so Simplified and Traditional both index and match reliably for 2+ character terms — no engine change required.
- Localized end-user guide.
EndUser_docs/is now organized by language (English/,Japanese/,Korean/,Chinese/), each with a translatedUser_Guide.docx. - Localized man pages.
docubrowser(1),docuback(1), anddocubrowse.config(5)are translated into Japanese, Korean, Simplified (zh_CN), and Traditional (zh_TW);manserves your locale and falls back to English otherwise. - Man pages added. First-class Linux man pages for the two CLI tools and the config-file format, installed into the RPM and DEB packages.
- Packaging. Every package type (RPM, DEB, tarball, Windows, macOS) now ships the per-language documentation tree.
Notes
- One DocuBrowse install serves one language at a time (interface, search, and synopsis). Japanese, Korean, and both Chinese variants share the same search engine, so switching among them needs no re-index; switching to or from English does.
- No first-letter index bar for Chinese (it is not alphabetic), the same as Japanese.
