  • Not worth the attention. Full crap. A long bunch of authors are listed on a site that hasn’t existed for a long time (according to the web archive), but it feels like the school’s students created the program. 1) With licenses nothing is clear at all, they are just rubbish there. In the installer, gnu gpl is written, in the properties of the sourceforge gnu agpl project, in the program folder there is a doc directory, and there are still a bunch of licenses, including apache license v2. You already decide what license you are distributing? In the end, once the project is abandoned, write one central license !!! What a not serious approach. It seems like the program is free, but it’s dangerous to use it, for any organization you can find a license with inappropriate restrictions. 2) the converter from pdf to djvu, the program does not open PDF. Have you tested it at all? it feels like not. 3) No file associations. Why do you need an e-book reader, if you can not double-click the book with the left mouse button. 4) The tessatact recognition engine supports a huge number of languages, but you only have three or four there and there is no possibility to add. Conclusion: This program can be called "Beautiful s***."
  • Re: DjVuppWin-v1beta.exe Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 After installation and starting program, splash screen appears: " Java Virtual Machine Launcher: Error: Could not open 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_60\lib\i386\jvm.cfg' " Uninstalled, reinstalled as admin, ran as admin - no change. UPDATE 19/09/2016: installed it to a Windows XP Pro i386 box with an older java installation and this time got it to run. Attempted following operations: 1. create djvu file from 3 tiffs - after a few moments elapsed, it reported the file created successfully, but search of entire hard drive could not locate it. 2. attempted EN ocr of an existing image-only djvu of 5 pages. Somewhat convoluted and impenetrable procedure to invoke ocr including selecting (what if whole djvu to be OCRd?) operand area. After some waiting a popup screen appeared with some gibberish in it. Gave up at that point and concluded this is really pre-alpha and needs much work before being upped.
