This tool allows you to enter a Dell serial number/ppid and find out useful information. It allows you to get the age of the part, the Dell part number & origin of manufacturer.

You can either input a serial number/ppid manually, or import them from a text file which will be read line by line.

This tool also allows you to export the information to a csv file.

User Reviews

  • Current version seems to work perfectly. Cannot easily find this information elsewhere, so thanks very much for this useful tool!
  • Congratualtions on your newly written tool v.1.0 I like the clean design and simple layout and ease of installation (or lack thereof) Just a few remarks: Manufacturing date is incorrectly calculated from the serial as the manf.day is always (and incorrectly) the same as the manf.month examples: ....-197-... should result in 7th sept 2011 but results in 9th sept 2011 ...-05L-... should result in 22nd may 2010 but results in 5th may 2010 Was hoping to find more info on the serial preferably some additional data that cannot be read from the serial itself but is queried on a database elsewhere. Another interesting feature would be to read the chip in the battery itself. Resulting in number of charge cylcles, state of charge, original capacity, effective capacity, etc,
