Debian 13 Mate Files

Debian 13 mate is based on debian 13 trixie (debian stable branch), and uses debian repositories for all packages installed (Except with a notable exception for this release regarding flash; see "notes" below). It is equipped with the mate desktop environment (mate 1.26.2). Debian stopped supporting 32bit architecture; there's only 64bit available in efi and legacy bootloader versions available.

Debian 12 mate was skipped because live-build was broken beyond use at that time.

Debian 11 mate 20220306 was the last release.

LIVE SESSION
Password for the live session is "live".

UFW FIREWALL
Ufw is enabled and denies incoming and allows outgoing traffic.

PROGRAMS AND PORTS YOU MAY WANT TO ALLOW THROUGH THE FIREWALL:
Xrdp remote desktop protocol server: 3389/tcp
Samba network file sharing: 137/udp, 138/udp, 139/tcp, 445/tcp
Openvpn ssl/tls vpn: 1194/udp

POST  INSTALLATION
Because the new installer doesn't let you set a root password. Use the "sudo" command for administration.

64BIT ONLY
Debian dropped 32bit support with the release of debian 13 Trixie.

CALAMARES INSTALLER
The debian installer was deemed too problematic; I chose the calamares installer. If you want to install, boot the live session, and then run the installer found on the desktop.

EFI SUPPORT
EFI or known as UEFI support is present. If you want to install on an system with encrypted boot, download either the 64 bit efi images here. If you don't want install on an encrypted boot system, download the images that dont have efi in the file name.

VIRTUAL MACHINE MANAGER
Virt-manager is included for the creation and management of virtual machines.

ENCRYPTION AND ANONYMITY
I always include tor and openvpn, now also included is wireguard for extra vpn protocol support. One can easily connect to tor network for anonymity, and openvpn and wireguard vpn servers can be connected to; or make an openvpn or wireguard vpn server.

RELEASE AND PROJECT NAMING
There's too many old "debian mate" distributions on sourceforge that aren't updated. I regularly update, and you can tell by looking at the name of the current version. This is still "debian mate" as how I intended.
