Xataface 2.0alpha Readme ======================== Xataface 2.0 has been in the works and unreleased for far too long. The original goal was to use 2.0 to transition completely into the HTML5 world, and there are still plans to do that. However time has gone by and there are just too many features that have been added to the trunk that would be useful to the user base (e.g. modules). Therefore, I am now releasing Xataface 2.0 as an alpha version. As before, the 1.3.x branch will continue to have bugfixes only. No feature additions. The 1.5.x and 1.9.x branches are not official releases and will only receive absolutely critical patches. Hence, going forward, there are two supported versions: 1.3.x and 2.0.x If you are on 1.5.x or 1.9.x you should be able to upgrade to 2.0.x without any problems. There are some notable changes in 2.0.x that you should be aware of if you wish to upgrade a project that uses 1.3.x to 2.0.x. One such change is that FCKeditor and TinyMCE have been removed from the distribution. It is recommended that you use the ckeditor module if you require a wysiwyg editor in your application. However, you can copy the lib/FCKeditor and/or lib/tiny_mce directories into your 2.0.x installation to restore the old FCKeditor and TinyMCE support if you need them. New Look and Feel ================= By default, this release retains the same look and feel as the 1.3.x branch. However, it is intended that you also install the g2 module to update the look and feel to a more modern look.
