xpstops and xpstopdf

These experimental filters convert Microsoft XPS (Xml Paper Specification) documents to PDF or PostScript, based on Gostpdl's gxps utility or, if installed, on xpstopdf or xpstops from the libgxps package.

Depending on the gxps release (>= 9.20) some of the job attributes (like fit-to-page, page-ranges, or page-set) are processed by the filter itself; to avoid incompatibilities, the follow-up filter – pstops or [cg]pdftopdf – are executed internally to process the rest of the options.

The handling of the *cupsICCProfie PPD keywords and the respective selection keywords are only processed if the FINAL_CONTENT_TYPE of the job is application/[vnd.cups-]postscript or application/[vnd.cups-]pdf to prevent conflicting processing by other filters following in the filter chain.

NOTE: The primary filter name is xpstops, the other, xpstopdf is set up as a symbolic link to the former. The filter's output format is selected by the "to..." of the actual program name the filter is called as.
