CrossMacro v1.5.0 – Multi-Document Editing, Flexible Image Regions & Larger Macros

CrossMacro v1.5.0 improves macro authoring with a multi-document editor, more flexible image-search regions, selected-action testing, and higher limits for large automation projects.

Editor and macro workflow

  • Multi-document editor workspace: Open and work on several macros in independent tabs. Tabs can be reordered by dragging, renamed inline, and closed with unsaved-change protection.
  • Playback integration for saved macros: Macros loaded from disk can be explicitly added to Playback and remain synchronized when saved.
  • Run selected actions: Run, stop, or cancel only the selected range of editor actions without starting the full macro.
  • Tray behaviour preferences: When system tray support is available, CrossMacro can hide its main window while recording or playback runs, then restore it when the operation finishes.
  • Single-instance activation: Starting the GUI again now brings the already-running CrossMacro window to the foreground.
  • New themes: Added the Jadeite theme by @GoblinoLe3rd and the Gruvbox Sublime theme by @Joshua66252

Image automation and larger macros

  • Variable image-search regions: image, imageclick, and waitimage can now use left, top, width, and height values resolved from variables during playback. Existing endpoint-based region syntax remains supported. Addresses [#81]
  • Higher macro limits: Script steps, recorded events, file lines, and loop iterations can now scale to ten million entries.
  • Larger embedded image support: Macro and CLI file limits, plus line-length limits, were increased for workflows containing large Base64 image assets.
  • Expanded execution ranges: Delays can reach 24 hours and scroll amounts can reach 100,000 where automation workflows need them.
  • More editor history: The editor undo stack now retains up to 2,000 changes.
  • Better use of available CPU capacity: Image matching and PNG decoding are no longer limited to four workers.

Fixes and delivery improvements

  • Playback now logs and continues when an absolute cursor move cannot settle in time, instead of aborting the complete macro.
  • Restored Windows edge and corner resizing with the custom CrossMacro title bar.
  • Improved Linux recovery when neither daemon-based nor direct input capture is available, and prevented reconnect loops after unrecoverable daemon input initialization failures.
  • Existing Windows Portable packages now publish as Native AOT single-file executables for x64 and Arm64, with their required native graphics libraries handled by the package at startup.
  • Strengthened package and release validation for incomplete outputs, invalid staging inputs, missing required setup steps, stale artifacts, and hash mismatches.
