This is RMIR v2.12.5, which is the first release of RMIR since v2.12.1 as builds 2, 3 and 4 were for development purposes only. The change that will affect most users is an update to Setup.vbs, the setup program for Windows users. This now takes the Java version from the JAVA_HOME environment variable if this exists, which gives users an easy way to control which of multiple Java versions is used. For Java 11 and later it also allows a scale factor to be set for the text size, to improve readability on high-definition screens. This option is not available on Java versions earlier than Java 11.

This version also supports the GP541 processor, for which the jp12serial library has been updated from v0.24 to v0.25. The algorithm for recognizing Bluetooth remotes has been changed, as a remote was found that was not recognized by the previous algorithm, and a new option "Find all Bluetooth" has been added to the Options > Advanced menu which turns off the algorithm and makes Search find all Bluetooth Low Energy devices. Five new RDFs have been added and a few others slightly amended. In addition a few minor bugs have been fixed.

RMIR v2.12.5 is only available as a full installation package. It is installed simply by unzipping this package into an empty folder. Please note that for an installation to work correctly, this folder must not be read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder. If you want to preserve your settings from version 2.12.1 then, after unzipping the package, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of that version to that of this new version. In this case, however, you will need to use the menu item File > Set Directory to change the locations of the RDF, Images and AddOns folders from being in the old installation folder to the new one.

Note that protocols.ini includes no-repeat versions of certain protocols, primarily intended for use by Slingbox files. Due to the specialized nature of these versions, by default they are not loaded when RM or RMIR is opened. If you need these protocols, check the item "Show Slingbox protocols" in the Options menu of either RM and RMIR. These protocols will then be loaded in all subsequent invocations of RM and RMIR until this item is specifically unchecked.
