Build 7 of RMIR v2.10 is now officially released. This is the first official release since build 3, as builds 4 through 6 were for development purposes. The main change since build 3 concerns the disabling of Enhanced Power Management, a step that is needed for XSight/Nevo remotes only. When Enhanced Power Management needs to be disabled, RMIR now offers two methods. One is essentially what was in build 3, detailed instructions on how to use the Windows Registry Editor to make this change. The new alternative is for RMIR to make this change itself, but because of the security surrounding registry changes in Windows, this needs RMIR to be "run as administrator". Again, full instructions are provided.

Build 7 is available both as a complete installation package and as an upgrade to build 3. To upgrade from build 3, download the package RemoteMasterUpgrade.v2.10build7.zip and unzip it into the installation folder for the earlier build, replacing any files with the same names. To create a new installation for build 7, download the complete package RemoteMaster.v2.10build7.zip and unzip it to an empty folder that is not read-only. For a Windows OS this means, in particular, that it should not be unzipped into a subfolder of the Program Files folder.

Build 7 also makes minor changes to supporting files. In particular, the Help file IrpProtocols.html has been updated to correspond with the included version of IrpTransmogrifier. This update was inadvertently omitted from build 3. Also, the Linux setup file has had a minor change and has been re-named from Setup.sh to setup.sh, to accord with Linux conventions on the case of command names. Linux users updating from build 3 with the upgrade package will therefore find, after the upgrade, that the old Setup.sh remains, in addition to the new setup.sh. The old file should be deleted. The Windows setup file Setup.vbs remains unchanged.

To create a new installation but preserve your settings from an earlier build, copy the RemoteMaster.properties file from the installation folder of the earlier build to that of the new one.
